Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently announced the revival of the Dojo3 supercomputer project and is recruiting top AI chip engineering talent globally. In August 2025, Tesla had paused the Dojo project, with Musk stating at the time that focusing resources on developing in-house chips like AI5 and AI6 would be more efficient. Now, with the AI5 chip design completed, Tesla has decided to restart development of Dojo3 to further advance its in-house chip strategy. Musk simultaneously posted a job listing inviting candidates interested in building the “world’s highest-volume chip” to apply, requiring applicants to summarize—in three bullet points within their email—the most challenging technical problem they’ve ever solved. This move underscores Tesla’s continued heavy investment in AI training and inference chips.
