Since discontinuing the Fusion in 2020, Ford has ceased selling traditional sedans in the U.S., with iconic models like the Taurus, Fiesta, and Focus successively phased out—leaving only the Mustang. CEO Jim Farley told Automotive News that the retreat wasn’t due to insufficient demand, but rather because the company “couldn’t find a way to compete profitably.” Although Ford continues to sell a midsize sedan under the Taurus or Mondeo nameplate in markets like the Middle East and China, there are currently no plans to bring it back to North America.
