The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently finalized revisions to the "Enterprise Review Requirements" and the "Product Review Requirements," which will officially take effect in January 2027. This move aims to curb safety and quality risks arising from some automakers excessively shortening product development cycles to gain a competitive edge in the market. The updated review requirements set higher standards for automakers’ R&D capabilities, consistency in production, and after-sales service capacity, while also introducing revised technical specifications concerning vehicle safety, environmental protection, and energy efficiency. As supporting documents to the "Administrative Measures for Access of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," these revisions are expected to raise industry entry barriers, promote high-quality development of the automotive industry, and effectively safeguard consumer rights.
