Hyundai Motor and Kia have recently unveiled a new sensing technology called "Vision Pulse," which uses ultra-wideband (UWB) radio waves to detect obstacles around the vehicle in real time with 10-centimeter accuracy. The system determines position by measuring signal exchange times between UWB modules and can identify other UWB-equipped vehicles, pedestrians, or objects, issuing collision warnings when potential impacts are predicted. Vehicles already equipped with Digital Key 2 can utilize this technology without requiring additional hardware. Thanks to UWB’s strong resistance to interference and excellent penetration capabilities, Vision Pulse maintains over 99% detection performance even in complex urban environments or adverse weather conditions, with communication latency as low as 1–5 milliseconds—significantly enhancing safety in blind spots. Compared to existing solutions that rely on roadside infrastructure or slower communication methods, Vision Pulse offers superior precision and responsiveness.
