XPeng Motors announced that its second-generation VLA intelligent driving system will begin rolling out on March 19, initially to owners of the P7 Ultra, G7 Ultra (BEV), and X9 Ultra/Ultra SE (BEV/Extended Range) models. The rollout will expand in April to include the 2026 P7+, G9, G6, and G7 (Extended Range) models equipped with Ultra or Ultra SE trims. The company also clarified the configurations for each version: - The Max variant features one Turing AI chip and focuses on L2-level driver assistance. - The Ultra SE comes with two chips, supporting the full-featured second-generation VLA system and offering L4-capable autonomous driving potential. - The Ultra version is equipped with three chips, delivering the full VLA capabilities plus an upgraded intelligent cabin experience. XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng revealed that the second-generation VLA Max version will be rolled out to more vehicle owners in the second half of this year. Specifically, the distilled Max version will prioritize high-frequency scenarios such as highways and major urban roads, while the Ultra version targets full-scenario L4 autonomous driving.
