Huawei and GAC Group have officially unveiled their new joint automotive brand, "Qijing." The brand's debut model—the GT7 shooting brake—will make its world premiere at the Beijing Auto Show in April and has already opened for blind pre-orders. The GT7 comes standard across all trims with Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent technologies, including an 896-line LiDAR system, an L3-grade autonomous driving architecture, and a HarmonyOS-powered smart cockpit, positioning it as a “third-generation smart car.” Qijing CEO Liu Jiaming emphasized that the GT7 focuses on “premium aesthetics, intelligence, and driving dynamics at a million-yuan level,” directly targeting younger consumers. As a pivotal move in GAC’s strategic transformation, Qijing leverages GAC’s manufacturing expertise and core EV technologies (battery, motor, and electronic control systems), combined with Huawei’s full-stack intelligent solutions. The brand plans to establish 300 retail stores by the end of 2024 and accelerate the launch of additional new models. In China’s fiercely competitive auto market, whether Qijing can replicate the success path of Aito remains to be tested by the market.
