According to foreign media reports, Toyota is planning to launch a high-performance off-road pickup truck named the "TRD Hammer," directly targeting the Ford F-150 Raptor. Recently, Toyota has registered the "TRD Hammer" trademark, and test vehicles have been spotted equipped with 37-inch all-terrain tires, a lifted suspension, and reinforced front and rear bumpers. Sources indicate the vehicle will be based on the Tundra and powered by a tuned 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. With the i-FORCE Max hybrid system, it is expected to deliver over 437 horsepower—approaching the Raptor’s 450-horsepower output. Previously, Toyota surveyed owners on several naming options, with "Hammer" emerging as the most popular choice. Although there are currently no plans for a high-displacement V8 "Beast Mode" variant, Toyota may consider challenging high-performance models like the Raptor R and Ram TRX if market response proves positive.
