Amid global geopolitical tensions, U.S. gasoline prices have surged to their highest level in nearly three years. According to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA), the national average price reached $3.94 per gallon on March 22. The spike in fuel costs has quickly influenced consumer vehicle-buying intentions: CarEdge, an automotive purchasing platform, reported that searches related to electric vehicles (EVs) on its site rose by approximately 20% within three weeks of the onset of the military action. Analysts noted that interest in EVs began rising noticeably within 48 hours of the conflict’s outbreak and predict that if high gas prices persist for more than a month, attention toward electric vehicles is likely to climb further.
