To meet the automotive HMI demand for high performance and large-screen displays, Microchip has launched the SAM9X75D5M system-in-package (SiP) hybrid MCU, which complies with the AEC-Q100 Grade 2 standard. Integrating an Arm926EJ-S processor and 512 Mbit DDR2 SDRAM, the device supports displays up to 10 inches with a resolution of 1024×768, making it suitable for applications such as digital instrument clusters, smart infotainment systems, HVAC controls, and EV charging stations. It features multiple built-in display interfaces—including MIPI DSI, LVDS, and RGB—and employs a simplified PCB layout to reduce routing complexity and mitigate DRAM sourcing risks. Positioned as a transitional solution bridging MCUs and MPUs, the SAM9X75D5M balances cost, performance, and power efficiency while enhancing supply stability and long-term reliability.
