Porsche was recently spotted testing a nearly undisguised all-electric 718 Cayman prototype at the Nürburgring, with a yellow badge on the upper left corner of the rear revealing its fully electric identity. Although the vehicle was first revealed as early as 2022 and has been under development for several years, the production version has yet to be launched. Porsche CEO Michael Leiters disclosed that more details about the electric Boxster and Cayman twins will be unveiled this autumn, praising his team’s achievements. The new model is expected to compete against a select group of electric two-door sports cars, including the MG Cyberster, the next-generation Alpine A110, and the Audi Concept C. Meanwhile, Porsche also plans to reintroduce a combustion-engine version of the 718 later this decade to cater to diverse market demands. Spy footage captured multiple performance cars undergoing testing at the Nürburgring, reinforcing the message that “driving fun is not dead.”
