Xiaomi Auto recently responded to user concerns that the driving dynamics of the new-generation SU7 felt less powerful during test drives compared to the initial model. The company explained that newly delivered vehicles have a "break-in protection period" for the first 300 kilometers, during which power output is restricted—potentially causing differences in the test-drive experience compared to the first-generation model. As of March 25, most retail stores nationwide have already lifted this restriction on their test-drive vehicles. Additionally, some early test-drive locations further limited power output via owner-mode settings due to safety considerations on specific test-drive routes. This measure has now been removed, provided safety requirements are met. Xiaomi recommends that consumers contact their retail advisors before scheduling a test drive to confirm whether the store offers a route that balances dynamic performance with safety, and reminds all drivers to comply with traffic regulations and prioritize safety.
