On March 24, Mercedes-Benz Group unveiled its global electrification strategy, with Chairman of the Board Ola Källenius reaffirming "zero emissions" as the company's ultimate goal. The automaker plans to launch fully electric vehicles across all segments—including luxury sedans, SUVs, and sports cars—by the early 2030s. Acknowledging uneven development in global markets, Mercedes-Benz will continue offering electrified internal combustion engine (ICE) models, particularly in emerging markets where charging infrastructure remains underdeveloped. Regions with mature infrastructure, such as Europe and North America, will lead the full transition to electric mobility, while other areas will adopt transitional solutions. Technologically, Mercedes-Benz is pursuing a dual-track approach: advancing dedicated electric vehicle platforms alongside optimizing high-efficiency internal combustion engines, including next-generation high-density batteries and 48V mild-hybrid systems. This "dual-path" strategy aims to balance technological foresight with market realities, ensuring the company’s global competitiveness.
