In the first half of 2026, SAIC Motor entered a period of intensive product launches: the IM LS8 was unveiled, the Volkswagen ID.ERA 9X began mass production, pre-orders opened for the fifth-generation Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, the Rising Auto Z7 launched its pre-sale campaign, and Roewe introduced its AI-native premium product lineup. From January to February, SAIC Motor reported cumulative sales of 596,900 vehicles, up 6.76% year-over-year. Its自主品牌 (self-owned brands) accounted for 67.2% of total sales, while overseas exports surged by 48.93%. SAIC is accelerating its deployment of extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) technology. The ID.ERA 9X, Volkswagen’s first EREV SUV, boasts a combined range exceeding 1,600 km. Brands including IM Motors and MG are also advancing their own EREV models simultaneously. On the intelligent driving front, the Rising Auto Z7 series features Huawei’s Qiankun Smart Driving solution and an 800V electrical architecture, racking up over 18,000 orders within three hours of its launch. The Wuling Huajing S will also adopt Huawei’s intelligent driving platform. Meanwhile, Roewe marked its 20th anniversary by unveiling an AI-native premium product line targeting the market above RMB 200,000. Internal integration efforts are yielding results: the “One Passenger Vehicle” strategy has enhanced R&D efficiency and parts commonality, driving a 14% year-over-year increase in self-owned brand sales. Overseas expansion is also accelerating. MG remains the top-selling Chinese automotive brand in Europe, and SAIC’s international operations have entered a new phase of integrated “R&D–production–sales–supply–after-sales service.”
