On March 26, 2026, the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) released crash test results in Beijing for five new energy vehicle models evaluated under its 2023 testing protocol: the Chery Zhijie R7, Lynk & Co 900, NIO ES8, Li Auto i6, and XPeng P7. All five models achieved the highest rating of "Good+ (G+)" across the three core sub-indices: Occupant Safety, Vulnerable Road User Protection, and Vehicle Assistive Safety. Each model comes standard with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and E-call emergency rescue functions. In low-speed active safety tests, all vehicles earned bonus points and received a "Good" rating. Additionally, all five models scored "Good (G)" on the New Energy Vehicle-specific Safety Index. Regarding crashworthiness and repair cost economy, two models received a "Good" rating, one was rated "Acceptable," and two were rated "Marginal." Notably, the NIO ES8 demonstrated outstanding structural crashworthiness, while the Chery Zhijie R7, NIO ES8, and Li Auto i6 all received "Good" ratings for crash compatibility.
