Hyundai Motor is accelerating its strategic expansion in China and North America. At the company's annual general meeting, CEO José Muñoz announced plans to double Hyundai's annual sales volume in China to 500,000 units. Beijing Hyundai has already sold 210,000 vehicles in 2025, achieving six consecutive months of year-over-year growth. Under its "Smart Move 2030" strategy, the company aims to launch 20 new models in China over the next four to five years. In North America—a market Hyundai considers central to its profitability—the automaker targets launching 36 new models (including battery electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine variants) by 2030, up from approximately 25 models currently on sale. In January this year, Muñoz visited BAIC Group, reaffirming China's pivotal role in Hyundai’s global strategy.
