On March 26, the first phase of Ningxia Hengchuang Nano Technology Co., Ltd.'s 130,000-ton-per-year lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) cathode material project officially broke ground at the Yinchuan Economic & Technological Development Zone. With a total investment of RMB 4.8 billion, the project commenced construction just three months after its signing in December 2025. The first phase will establish a production line with an annual capacity of 30,000 tons and is expected to begin operations in December 2026. Once fully completed, it will become the largest LMFP production base in Northwest China. As an upgraded alternative to lithium iron phosphate (LFP), LMFP offers 15%–20% higher energy density. Leveraging its proprietary "solid-liquid two-phase method" and globally leading shipment volumes, Hengchuang Nano has already entered the supply chains of several top-tier battery manufacturers. The project capitalizes on Yinchuan’s abundant green electricity resources and strategic location, utilizing green power for production. This approach results in a carbon footprint 40% lower than the industry average and significantly reduces logistics costs. Upon full operation of Phase I, the project is projected to generate annual tax revenues exceeding RMB 40 million, supporting Yinchuan’s ambition to build a high-end, green, and intelligent new energy industrial chain.
