On March 29, 2026, GAC Toyota officially launched the bZ7, with a limited-time subsidized price ranging from RMB 147,800 to RMB 199,800. As Toyota’s first all-electric sedan equipped with HarmonyOS Cockpit 5, the entire lineup comes standard with L2-level advanced driver assistance, intelligent parking, real wood interior trim, and ventilated/heated seats—breaking the longstanding dilemma in the sub-RMB-200,000 EV segment where premium features were previously hard to obtain together. Even the entry-level variant offers D-segment vehicle dimensions at a B-segment price. Starting at RMB 161,800, customers can opt for the LiDAR-equipped version, which supports highway and urban navigation pilot functions as well as memory parking, along with lifetime free OTA updates. Models priced around RMB 170,000 further include dual-chamber air suspension, HarmonyOS Cockpit, and advanced intelligent driving capabilities. To address concerns over battery degradation and air suspension durability, GAC Toyota has introduced clear warranties: free battery replacement if degradation exceeds specified limits, and up to 10 years or 300,000 kilometers of coverage for the dual-chamber air suspension. Positioned under the “Joint Venture 2.0” model, the bZ7 integrates Toyota’s manufacturing expertise with technologies from Huawei and Momenta, aiming to rebuild consumer trust in joint-venture electric vehicles.
