Infiniti recently launched its all-new midsize gasoline-powered SUV, the QX65, in North America—the brand’s first new model in five years—aimed at revitalizing its steadily declining sales in the region. The QX65 features a two-row seating layout, starts at $53,990, and will go on sale this summer, directly competing with the Lexus RX. Built at the Smyrna, Tennessee plant, the QX65 carries forward the front grille design language of the QX80 and is offered in a distinctive red paint option featuring gold-coated glass particles. Due to persistently weak sales, Nissan has streamlined Infiniti’s lineup, discontinuing two models and now offering only three SUVs: the QX60, QX80, and the new QX65. In 2024, Infiniti sold just 58,000 vehicles in the U.S.—less than half of its 2017 peak. Nissan is currently advancing a restructuring plan targeting profitability in its automotive business and positive free cash flow by fiscal year 2027.
