Expedition Motor Company (EMC) has unveiled its latest restomod based on the 1991 W461 military-spec G-Wagen, dubbed the “Camouflage Wolf.” Starting with the original 250GD Wolf—a diesel-powered model producing just 90 horsepower—EMC upgraded it with a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine delivering 430 horsepower. The build features Bilstein suspension, a Sweetgrass-colored interior, and oak wood trim. Paying homage to the G-Class’s early military heritage, the vehicle sports a camouflage paint job that blends rugged off-road aesthetics with modern luxury. The base model starts at approximately $185,000, with the LS3 V8 upgrade adding an extra $55,000. Despite its high price tag, EMC emphasizes the value of its handcrafted modifications, though some argue a similar result could be achieved at a lower cost through a DIY approach.
