Chrysler has announced a recall of 178,246 model-year 2022–2026 Pacifica and Voyager minivans due to a defect in the side curtain airbags, which may fail to maintain sufficient inflation pressure during deployment. This increases the risk of occupants being ejected through side windows in a crash. Approximately 30% of the affected vehicles may be impacted by this issue. This marks Stellantis’ third recall related to the same component, following two similar recalls in May and September last year. In March this year, the company identified additional airbags with manufacturing defects that may not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards. Chrysler will notify owners this month and replace one or both side curtain airbags free of charge. No injuries, fatalities, or crashes related to this defect have been reported to date.
