LeDao Auto, a sub-brand under NIO, announced that the 2026 model of the LeDao L90 will officially debut in late April. The new model will introduce, for the first time, a variant equipped with LiDAR, while continuing to offer and sell the existing vision-only intelligent driving version. According to Yu Bin, Assistant Vice President of NIO and Head of Product at LeDao Auto, rising prices of core components such as high-performance memory in recent years have increased the overall cost of the new vehicle by approximately RMB 10,000. Despite this, LeDao remains committed to continuous investment in intelligent user experiences. Notably, following the delivery of the LiDAR-equipped version, LeDao will roll out a major OTA upgrade for all vision-only L90 models launched since 2024. This upgrade will cover three core modules: intelligent cockpit, intelligent chassis, and intelligent driver assistance. Among the enhancements, a new end-to-end intelligent driver assistance model will significantly improve navigation-assisted driving performance in both urban environments and on highways/expressways, and will introduce long-awaited features such as human-machine collaborative driving and personalized parking spot selection. The company stated that, after the upgrade, the vehicle’s overall intelligent driving capabilities will reach a leading level in its class. According to previous filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the LiDAR-equipped L90 also features exterior updates, including new two-tone body color options, redesigned wheels, horizontally styled taillights with smart interactive functionality, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a hidden rear wiper. Currently, all on-sale LeDao L90 models use a pure vision-based solution, standard-equipped with seven 8-megapixel high-definition cameras, four 3-megapixel surround-view cameras, one 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and a single NVIDIA Orin-X chip (with 254 TOPS of computing power). These vehicles already support highway and urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functions. The addition of LiDAR will further enhance the vehicle’s perception accuracy and driving safety in complex environments.
