Tesla Cybercab Interior Revealed: No Frunk, Massive Fluid Tank, and Front-Wheel Drive

New aerial footage has revealed detailed insights into the interior structure of Tesla’s Cybercab. The vehicle is a two-seater, fully autonomous car that omits the traditional front trunk (frunk); instead, its front compartment houses key components. Most notably, it features an integrated, oversized fluid reservoir that supplies both the windshield wipers and the cleaning systems for all seven external cameras—ensuring clear sensor visibility during autonomous operation. The front compartment also contains hydraulic equipment to pressurize the cleaning system and likely integrates air conditioning components, thereby freeing up legroom in the cabin. The Cybercab adopts an ultra-minimalist cabin design, with most functions controlled via a single 21-inch touchscreen. It debuts a novel one-touch door switch that merges electronic and mechanical elements. The vehicle includes a spacious rear trunk equipped with an internal camera that can alert passengers if they leave belongings behind. Aerial images further indicate that the front-compartment layout strongly suggests a front-wheel-drive configuration—despite earlier sightings of production prototypes featuring larger rear wheels, typically associated with rear-wheel drive. Currently, Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas is undergoing a temporary shutdown for upgrades in preparation for Cybercab mass production later this month. Approximately 12 Cybercabs have already appeared at the crash-test facility, while another eight engineering prototypes are parked in the outbound staging area, identifiable by blue tape on their side-mirror mounts, signaling that comprehensive fleet testing is now fully underway.
