Tesla's Gigafactory Shanghai delivered 213,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in the first quarter of 2026, a 23.5% year-over-year increase. Deliveries in March alone exceeded 85,600 units, up 46% month-over-month. According to Tesla’s official figures, the company delivered a total of 358,023 EVs globally during Q1 2026, meaning Gigafactory Shanghai accounted for nearly 60% of Tesla’s global deliveries. During the same period, Tesla produced 408,386 EVs worldwide, including 394,611 Model 3/Y units (with 341,893 delivered) and 13,775 units of other models (with 16,130 delivered). Operational leasing accounted for 1% of total deliveries. Additionally, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) estimates that nationwide wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached approximately 1.12 million units in March 2026—flat year-over-year but up 55% month-over-month. Tesla China ranked among the top three manufacturers in terms of new energy passenger vehicle wholesale sales for the month.
