Chinese electric truck maker Windrose has delivered its first Global E700 Class 8 heavy-duty electric truck to U.S.-based Texas logistics company Allogic and its charging partner Greenspace E-Mobility. This marks the first time a Chinese-made Class 8 electric truck has entered the U.S. market. The vehicle will operate on the I-35 cross-border freight corridor connecting Mexico and Texas. The Global E700 is equipped with a 705 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, built on an 800-volt architecture and powered by a rear-mounted motor delivering 1,400 horsepower. With a fully loaded trailer, it achieves a range of 416 miles (approximately 669 kilometers). The truck features an MCS charging port, supports peak charging power of up to 870 kW, and can recharge from 20% to 80% state of charge in 38 minutes. Priced at $300,000 in the U.S. market—slightly higher than the base model of the Tesla Semi—the Global E700 qualifies for California’s incentive program, enabling buyers to receive up to $120,000 in state subsidies. Windrose stated that customers who pay a 60% upfront deposit will begin receiving volume deliveries in Q3 2024, while standard orders with a 5% deposit are scheduled for delivery in Q4 2024.
