Ariel has unveiled its fastest and most powerful Atom to date—the Atom 4RR. Powered by a comprehensively upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four Honda K20C engine, it delivers a maximum output of 525 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0–62 mph in 2.4 seconds and 0–100 mph in 5.1 seconds, with a top speed of 175 mph. The engine is hand-built to bespoke specifications and features numerous redesigned and upgraded components, including closed-deck cylinder liners, custom-forged pistons and connecting rods, revised cylinder head and port geometry, an alloy valvetrain with uprated springs and guides, and dedicated camshafts. Additional enhancements include a race-spec head gasket, track-focused oil restrictor system with a high-flow oil pump, a larger turbocharger, a carbon-fiber intake system, and a titanium exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Quaife six-speed sequential gearbox. The Atom 4RR offers three power modes: besides the full-performance setting, Map 1 produces 400 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, while Map 2 delivers 500 hp and 332 lb-ft. Each engine comes with its own dyno plot. Chassis upgrades include adjustable twin-tube Öhlins dampers, while braking is handled by 12.2-inch two-piece AP Racing ventilated discs—the largest that can fit within the Atom’s wheel arches—paired with a braking system offering 11 ABS settings, including an off option. The car rides on Yokohama A052 high-performance tires measuring 16 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. Ariel states the Atom 4RR will be produced in “extremely limited numbers,” though it has not disclosed exact production figures. Pricing starts at £208,000 (approximately $279,472), and the vehicle is fully road-legal. The Atom 4RR also commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Atom model line, which began deliveries in 2000.
