The Hongqiao Park Ultra-Fast Charging Station—the largest vehicle-to-grid (V2G) demonstration station in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area—has officially commenced operations at Hongqiao Park in Guangming District, Shenzhen. Equipped with 23 V2G charging piles covering 37 parking spaces, the entire station has been integrated into Shenzhen’s Virtual Power Plant Management Center, with a maximum single-discharge capacity of 2,770 kilowatts. The station features the following configurations: - One megawatt-level, fully liquid-cooled V2G charger for passenger vehicles with a maximum power output of 1,000 kW, capable of adding 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes; - Six ultra-fast chargers rated at 600 kW each, delivering a charging speed of “one kilometer per second”; - Eleven fast chargers ranging from 250 to 300 kW, able to charge electric vehicles to 80% capacity in 30 minutes or less; - The remaining chargers offer power outputs between 30 and 120 kW. This station achieves three national firsts: 1. China’s first 20 kV prefabricated “Power Cube” substation, enabling zero-carbon operation; 2. China’s first fully liquid-cooled, single-gun megawatt-level V2G charger for passenger vehicles; 3. China’s first sodium-ion battery energy storage system designed specifically for ultra-fast charging scenarios, enhancing stability during high-power charging and discharging. Additionally, approximately 600 square meters of photovoltaic panels have been installed on the station’s carport canopy, generating around 140,000 kWh of electricity annually. By directly connecting photovoltaic generation, energy storage, and charging piles via DC coupling, the station forms a “PV-storage-direct-flexible” microgrid. This setup, combined with an integrated energy management platform, enables intelligent, round-the-clock operations and maintenance along with real-time safety alerts.
