Nissan recently unveiled the new Rogue E-Power hybrid model at its Yokohama headquarters and announced plans to revive the Xterra nameplate. Richard Candler, Nissan’s Global Head of Product Strategy, stated that the company is seriously considering reintroducing more sporty vehicles into its lineup—not limited to the GT-R and Z series—but potentially including other beloved classic nameplates. Previously, Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa also revealed that, in addition to the upcoming R36 GT-R, the brand is developing more sports cars. While the return of the Silvia nameplate has not been officially confirmed, the team indicated that “more sports cars” will be added to the future product portfolio. If the Silvia is revived, it is expected to target the affordable rear-wheel-drive sports car segment, competing with models like the Mazda Miata, Toyota GR86, and Subaru BRZ, emphasizing affordability and driving enjoyment.
