According to the latest survey data from Xiaomi Auto, 70% of vehicle owners drive no more than 400 kilometers per week, with this figure rising to 85% on weekdays. Based on these insights, Xiaomi has launched the Pengcheng series of range-extended SUVs, offering a maximum CLTC all-electric range of 505 km across the lineup and equipped with a battery capacity of up to 76 kWh—enabling weekly charging for most users. Utilizing range-extender technology, these vehicles operate as pure electric cars for daily commuting, while the onboard range extender provides additional power for long-distance travel, effectively alleviating range and charging anxiety. With a maximum battery capacity of 76 kWh, the Pengcheng series leads the current range-extended SUV market, significantly surpassing models like the Li L7 (approximately 42 kWh) and Aito M7 (around 40 kWh), and approaching the battery configurations found in some mid-size BEV SUVs. Built on Xiaomi’s self-developed Kunlun architecture, the Pengcheng series is positioned as an intelligent, spacious, and flexible range-extended SUV. Among them, the Pengcheng N70 has already been filed with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,785 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm and seating for five passengers, targeting the family-oriented large five-seater segment. Powering the N70 is a 1.5T range extender, offered in two variants: the entry-level rear-wheel-drive version features a single 210 kW motor paired with CATL LFP batteries supplied by Sunwoda; the higher-end N70 Max variant adopts a dual-motor AWD system (210 kW + 100 kW) and uses CALB ternary lithium batteries with a 76 kWh capacity, enabling a top speed of 190 km/h. With both fuel and electricity fully loaded, the N70 Max is expected to deliver a combined driving range exceeding 1,500 km and supports an 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to introduce the N90 and N90 Max models, both full-size three-row SUVs. The N90 Max will include a camping edition equipped with an electric hydraulic pop-up roof tent.
