According to foreign media reports, Geely Holding Group is considering entering the U.S. market before 2030, planning to sell vehicles through its premium brands Zeekr and Lynk & Co. Ash Sutcliffe, Geely’s Global Communications Head, stated that the group is evaluating global expansion opportunities, including the U.S., and may leverage Volvo’s manufacturing plant in South Carolina to avoid high tariffs. Although no final decision has been made on production locations, utilizing Volvo’s existing capacity is seen as a potential option. Sutcliffe revealed that a formal plan could be announced within the next two to three years, emphasizing strong U.S. demand for high-value luxury vehicles. Despite U.S. restrictions on Chinese-made cars and in-vehicle software, Geely still aims to enter the market with hybrid or internal combustion engine models.
