Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Education, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), and the National Data Administration jointly released the "Implementation Plan for Digital Transformation in the Automotive Industry," aiming to promote high-quality development in the automotive sector and deepen the integration of next-generation information technologies with the automotive industry. The plan addresses key challenges such as inadequate top-level design, insufficient data utilization, and slow digital transformation among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It proposes "Six Major Actions" and outlines eight representative digital-intelligent scenarios across five core areas—covering R&D, production, and more. The plan sets two-phase targets: by 2027, intelligent manufacturing capabilities of vehicle manufacturers will be significantly enhanced, and the digitalization level of auto parts suppliers will markedly improve; by 2030, the entire industry will achieve a high level of digital-intelligent transformation. Companies such as BYD and Wanxiang Technology have already begun implementing relevant technologies. Additionally, MIIT will strengthen talent support and deepen collaboration between universities and enterprises to ensure effective implementation of the plan.
