2026-01-14 12:51:09In response to recent online rumors claiming that "Volvo has recalled its EX30 model due to battery issues from Sunwoda," Sunwoda Chairman Wang Wei clearly stated that the reports are false. He explained that the battery packs in question were not directly supplied by Sunwoda, but rather provided by a factory within Volvo’s own system. The cells used in these packs were produced by Shandong Geely Sunwoda Battery Co., Ltd.—a joint venture between Geely and Sunwoda, in which Sunwoda holds a 30% stake. The battery packs themselves were assembled and supplied to Volvo by VRE (V睿), an electric vehicle technology company under Geely. Sunwoda emphasized that this recall has no direct connection with its power battery subsidiary. Notably, Sunwoda Power was previously sued by Geely’s VRE, which is seeking RMB 2.314 billion in compensation, alleging quality issues with the battery cells.
