At the Fourth Session of the 16th Beijing Municipal People's Congress, which opened on January 25, Mayor Yin Yong delivered the government work report, stating that in 2025, Beijing achieved a record high with over 80% of days classified as having "good" or better air quality. The annual average concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) dropped to 27 micrograms per cubic meter, an 11.5% year-on-year decrease—the best level since monitoring records began. The report highlighted significant progress in building a "Beautiful Beijing," noting that through the intensive implementation of the "0.1 Microgram Campaign," the city has surpassed 1.3 million new energy vehicles in circulation and increased the share of green electricity to 36%, driving continuous improvements in air quality.
