2026-02-14 13:13:00Mazda has recently launched the 2026 Scrum light commercial vehicle in Japan. As a sister model to the Suzuki Carry and Nissan Clipper, the new Scrum features minor exterior updates, including blacked-out slim headlights, a new grille, and a revised front bumper—differing only by its badge. The body retains its decade-old design but adds a new Metallic Gray color option and is offered exclusively with a single-row, low-roof cab. Inside, physical buttons are retained, and the higher-spec KX trim offers an optional 7- or 8-inch infotainment screen. Safety features include the standard Dual Sensor Brake Support II system, which enhances detection of pedestrians and vehicles, along with low-speed braking assistance, parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. Power comes from the familiar 658cc three-cylinder engine (50 hp), available with rear-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has a maximum payload capacity of 350 kg. Orders for the new Scrum are now open in Japan, with the base two-wheel-drive manual variant starting at ¥1,127,600 (approximately $8,000)—the lowest price among the three models sharing this platform.
