Tesla has officially discontinued the one-time purchase option for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability in the United States as of February 14, permanently eliminating the previous $8,000 buyout option. Going forward, U.S. customers will only be able to access FSD through a subscription model, priced at $99 per month or $999 annually. Additionally, Australia and New Zealand will also discontinue the one-time FSD purchase option starting March 31, 2026. In contrast, the Chinese market currently maintains its existing policy, offering two one-time purchase options: Enhanced Autopilot for RMB 32,000 and Smart Summon (referred to locally as "Intelligent Driving") for RMB 64,000. However, the actual availability of FSD-related features in China remains limited, making these offerings more akin to "pre-orders" or "futures."
