The new model will be offered in both hybrid and all-electric variants. Built on a dedicated platform, it retains the rugged styling of the iconic G-Class, featuring classic design elements such as round headlights and fender-mounted turn signals, with a wheelbase not exceeding 4,400 mm. The hybrid version will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine—the same unit used in the CLA—producing a maximum output of 188 horsepower, paired with an electric motor for pure electric driving capability. The all-electric variant will feature Mercedes’ eATS 2.0 dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and an 85 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, delivering an estimated WLTP range of approximately 724 kilometers. Notably, the hybrid engine will be manufactured by Horse Powertrain, a joint venture between Geely and Renault.
