Located in the warehouse-dense "Inland Empire" region near the interchange of Interstate 10 and Interstate 15, the site serves as a critical freight hub connecting the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach with inland distribution centers. The Megacharger boasts a theoretical charging capacity of up to 1.2 megawatts, capable of replenishing 60% of the Semi’s battery in just 30 minutes—aligning with mandatory driver rest periods and offering practical operational value. Currently, however, the station operates at a reduced power output of 750 kW. Previously, Tesla had installed Megachargers in Sparks, Nevada, and Carson, California, but those were restricted exclusively to its own fleet. The Ontario station marks Tesla’s official opening of its electric truck ultra-fast charging network to external customers.
