Xiaomi Auto plans to launch four new vehicles in 2026, including two range-extended electric SUVs, officially entering the extended-range market. The first range-extended model, internally codenamed "Kunlun," is expected to be named the YU9 and positioned as a mid-to-large family SUV. With an overall length exceeding 5.2 meters and a wheelbase of approximately 3.1 meters, the YU9 will offer either six- or seven-seat configurations and carry an estimated price tag of RMB 350,000–450,000. The YU9 will be equipped with a battery pack exceeding 70 kWh, delivering a pure-electric range of 400–500 km. Combined with a 1.5T range extender and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, its total driving range is projected to reach up to 1,500 km, with a combined output of around 400 horsepower. The vehicle will run Xiaomi’s self-developed HyperOS operating system, supporting features such as smartphone-as-key functionality and seamless app continuity between devices. It will also include hardware like LiDAR to enable advanced driver-assistance capabilities. Facing established competitors like Li Auto and Aito, Xiaomi must build competitive advantages in intelligent user experience, cost-performance ratio, reliability of its range-extending system, and production capacity planning to earn the trust of family-oriented consumers.
