Porsche CEO Michael Lietz recently confirmed that the electric 718 project remains under active development, with more details on the product roadmap expected to be unveiled this fall. He has personally test-driven a prototype and praised its performance highly. Although customer deliveries of the production model won’t begin until 2027, the project has not been canceled. Daniel Schmollinger, CEO of Porsche Australia, also lauded the car for its excellent weight distribution and go-kart-like driving dynamics, noting that the electric powertrain enhances its dynamic capabilities. Additionally, Porsche is improving development efficiency and reducing costs through cross-model technology sharing. Meanwhile, the jointly developed Concept C project with Audi is also progressing and is expected to reach production within two years. It will be offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle, featuring an electrically operated retractable Targa roof. Initial versions will be rear-wheel drive with a single motor, followed later by a dual-motor Quattro variant.
