2026-04-13 23:06:00On April 13, 2026, Geely Auto Group officially unveiled its i-HEV Smart Hybrid technology. Built on the All-Domain AI 2.0 architecture, this system integrates a high thermal-efficiency engine, high-power electric drive, and high C-rate battery, claiming breakthroughs across five key areas: intelligence, energy efficiency, performance, safety, and reliability. The system features the GEEA 3.0 electronic/electrical architecture and the Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0 large model, enabling dynamic optimization of hybrid power strategies based on real-time environmental data to improve overall energy efficiency by over 10%. Its dedicated engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 48.41%, certified by China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) as the highest among mass-produced engines globally. Real-world testing shows that the fifth-generation Emgrand i-HEV achieves a combined fuel consumption of just 2.22 L/100 km, while the Xingrui i-HEV records 2.58 L/100 km. In terms of performance, the system adopts a P1+P3 hybrid configuration with an 11-in-1 integrated hybrid electric drive unit, delivering a peak power output of 230 kW. Under WLTC conditions, the electric drive accounts for more than 80% of total driving time, supporting pure-electric operation up to 66 km/h. It accelerates from 0–30 km/h in just 1.84 seconds, with a power response time of only 10 milliseconds. Additionally, EOC noise control and intelligent engine shutdown prediction technologies are employed to optimize NVH performance. For safety, the vehicle design incorporates independent oil and electrical circuits, along with patented power redundancy technology—ensuring continued drivability even if one power source fails. The hybrid battery uses a liquid-cooling solution, meets IP68 ingress protection standards and China’s new national standard GB38031-2025, and has passed rigorous three-directional crash tests. Regarding reliability, the system has undergone 15,000 hours of bench testing (equivalent to 4.8 million kilometers) and successfully completed extreme-environment sequential testing across temperature variations of nearly 100°C and altitudes ranging from 4,650 meters down to 1,200 meters. It has earned the “Ironman Seven Endurance Tests for Hybrid System Reliability” certification. The i-HEV technology enters mass production immediately upon launch and will be first deployed in 2026 across Geely’s “China Star” series models—including the Xingrui, Xingyue L, fourth-generation Boyue L, and fifth-generation Emgrand. Among them, the Xingyue L i-HEV and Xingrui i-HEV opened for pre-orders on April 19 and kicked off the “Journey of Ten Thousand Li: Conquering the Globe” initiative, embarking on a product validation and promotion tour along the historic Silk Road.
