Porsche's 911 model has seen continuous sales growth in recent years, with deliveries reaching a record-high 51,583 units in 2025. In the first three months of 2026 alone, Porsche delivered 13,889 units—a 22% year-over-year increase. To expand its lineup, Porsche has introduced the all-new 911 GT3 S/C (Sport Cabriolet), the first GT3 variant ever to feature a fully automatic soft-top convertible roof. The roof can be opened or closed in approximately 12 seconds via a button press at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). A separate button allows the wind deflector to be raised or lowered in just two seconds. While not a direct successor to the previous Speedster model, the GT3 S/C inherits its manual transmission configuration—offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox and no dual-clutch automatic option. Due to the complex convertible mechanism, the vehicle weighs about 30 kg (66 lbs) more than the Speedster. Curb weight is 1,507 kg (3,322 lbs) for U.S.-spec models and 1,497 kg for European versions. It is also the first open-top 911 to feature double-wishbone suspension at the front axle, with chassis tuning derived from the 911 GT3 coupe equipped with the Touring package. To manage weight, the hood, fenders, doors, and rear anti-roll bar are constructed from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). CFRP is also used for the rear-axle connecting rods and underbody shielding. Standard equipment includes magnesium alloy wheels, ceramic brakes, and magnesium components integrated into the body structure. An optional lightweight一体式 bucket seat with a CFRP shell is available, and with the rear seats removed entirely, this becomes the only two-seater 911 Cabriolet ever offered. Power comes from a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 502 horsepower and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque—the same output as the GT3 coupe. Acceleration from 0–60 mph takes 3.7 seconds, 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and top speed stands at 313 km/h (194 mph). Unlike the Speedster—which was limited to 1,948 units to commemorate Porsche’s founding year of 1948—the GT3 S/C will not be produced in limited numbers. In the U.S., it carries a starting price of $275,350 (including destination charges), roughly 11% less than a comparably equipped GT3 coupe priced above $308,000. The GT3 S/C also inherits the carbon-fiber fenders and doors from the 911 S/T model. Deliveries to U.S. dealerships are scheduled to begin in fall 2026.
