It is reported that Chevrolet will build a K5 Blazer-E pure electric concept car based on the K5 Blazer produced in 1977. The car will be equipped with a 60kWh battery pack, and the maximum power after modification can reach 200 horsepower. It is reported that this concept car will participate in the 2020 SEMA 360 Cloud Auto Show held in early November.
This Blazer replaced the original 6.55L V8 engine, 3-speed automatic transmission and exhaust system with the Electric Connect and Cruise pure electric power system. The Bolt motor has a maximum power of 149kW, a peak torque of 361N·m, and a battery with a capacity of 60kWh. The group is placed in the cargo compartment and matched with an electronically controlled 4-speed gearbox.
The vice president of Chevrolet's performance department in the United States said that the significance of building this concept car is that Chevrolet can provide each user with a solution for converting a fuel power system to a pure electric system. The pure electric power system on the concept will be formally launched in the second half of 2021.
