BMW has officially confirmed the discontinuation of the X4 model. The final X4 (G02 generation) rolled off the production line at the Spartanburg plant in November 2025. The vehicle has already been removed from BMW’s U.S. website, and most markets have stopped accepting new custom orders, with only limited inventory remaining for sale. BMW does not plan to launch a third-generation gasoline-powered X4; instead, it will be succeeded by an all-new electric coupe SUV—the iX4 (internal code NA7). The iX4 features BMW’s “Neue Klasse” design language and a pronounced fastback silhouette. It is larger than the iX2 and is expected to debut later this year, with production set to begin in November at BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary, boasting an annual capacity of 150,000 units. In addition, BMW will gradually phase out several other models—including the Z4, 8 Series, XM (discontinued by end of 2028), 2 Series Gran Tourer, and iX—as part of its strategic shift to concentrate resources on accelerating its electrification transformation.
