Dodge has officially ceased production of the Hornet compact SUV. Launched in 2023 to compete against popular models like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, the Hornet struggled in the market. Dodge confirmed to media that due to "changes in the policy environment"—including new U.S. tariff policies introduced last year—the Hornet, which was produced in Italy, has been permanently discontinued following the halt of the 2026 model year. Although it achieved its best annual sales performance in 2024 with 20,559 units sold, its total sales over three years amounted to only around 39,000 units—far below those of its rivals. For context, the RAV4 alone outsold the Hornet by more than 12 times in the U.S. market in 2025. Dodge emphasized it will continue providing after-sales service, warranty coverage, and parts support for existing owners. The Alfa Romeo Tonale, which shares the same platform, remains in production.
