BMW has confirmed that the final X4 (G02 model) will roll off the production line in November 2025. The model has already been removed from BMW’s U.S. website, and custom orders have ceased in many markets worldwide. The X4 is being discontinued due to its shared platform with the X3, low visual distinctiveness, cramped interior space, and limited powertrain options. There are no plans for a third-generation combustion-engine version. Its successor will be the all-new all-electric coupe SUV—the iX4 (codenamed NA7)—featuring a sloping roofline, slim front headlights, a reduced-size kidney grille, and L-shaped taillights, carrying forward the design language of the iX3. Due to its lower roofline, the iX4 is expected to offer slightly less headroom and cargo capacity than the iX3. The new model will make its global debut at the end of 2026 and will be produced at BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary.
