In response to recent online rumors claiming that "Xiaomi's used car market is in complete disarray," Xu Jieyun, Xiaomi's newly appointed General Manager of Public Relations, addressed the issue during a live stream on January 15. She stated that such claims largely stem from exaggerated headlines and staged performances created by certain used-car dealers seeking traffic—using sensational phrases like "unsold inventory" or "selling at a loss," and even resorting to absurd stunts like "shamanistic rituals" to grab attention—all with the real intent of promoting their own vehicle listings. Xu emphasized that the Xiaomi SU7 actually enjoys excellent liquidity, with units selling as soon as they arrive, and holds its value exceptionally well. She further cited data from the China Automobile Dealers Association, noting that the Xiaomi SU7 has ranked first for eight consecutive months in the 2025 one-year resale value retention ranking among major all-electric vehicle models. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun also commented on the matter, acknowledging that while these videos are merely attempts to ride on Xiaomi's popularity, they have nonetheless caused significant harm to the brand.
