On January 16, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, sharply criticized HarmonyOS Cockpit during an internal meeting, stating it "doesn't deserve to be called an intelligent cockpit." He pointed out that the system lacks essential smart alert features—for instance, it fails to warn drivers when tire pressure is slightly low, only issuing a notification once pressure drops to a critically low level, which he deemed illogical. Moreover, he noted that the system sometimes suggests opening windows for ventilation while driving at high speeds, which not only increases cabin noise but also negatively impacts energy efficiency, despite the vehicle’s air conditioning system already being capable of air exchange. Yu emphasized that the current functionality is far too limited and falls well short of meeting "intelligent" standards. His candid remarks sparked widespread discussion online, with many users expressing support and agreeing that such nuanced issues can only be identified through firsthand experience. As the product lead, Yu’s exacting standards are expected to drive rapid optimization and upgrades for the HarmonyOS Cockpit.
