At the 2026 CES exhibition, BMW and Qualcomm announced that their jointly developed advanced driver-assistance system, Ride Pilot, will be made available to third-party customers. The system, already integrated into the new BMW iX3 and powered by Qualcomm technology, can process data from up to seven cameras and five radars. Additionally, BMW unveiled an enhanced AI-powered personal assistant based on generative AI, capable of engaging in natural-language, continuous conversations and integrating with functions such as navigation. This assistant will debut in the second half of 2026 on iX3 models in the German and U.S. markets, with plans to roll out to additional models afterward. Ride Pilot has already been adopted by external customers, marking its entry into the commercialization phase, although specific customer details have not yet been disclosed.
