This week, the AITO brand celebrated the rollout of its one-millionth vehicle, becoming another new-energy automaker to join the "million-vehicle club." Since its launch in December 2021, AITO has grown rapidly with technological support from Huawei, leading new-energy vehicle sales among emerging brands in 2024 and delivering over 420,000 units in 2025. Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), and State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) jointly issued the "Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization of Spent Power Batteries from New Energy Vehicles." The measures establish a "full lifecycle" management model, introduce a "digital ID" system for power batteries, and reinforce the recycling responsibilities of automakers and battery manufacturers. In other developments, Times Changan announced a RMB 5.5 billion investment to build a 25 GWh power battery facility in the Sichuan-Chongqing Ga Zhu New Area. Additionally, SVOLT unveiled the "Fortress 2.0," the world's highest-capacity plug-in hybrid battery pack at 80 kWh, which is scheduled to enter mass production in March 2026.
