According to recent data released by Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), China exported 8.32 million vehicles from January to December 2025, a 30% year-on-year increase. The export value reached USD 142.4 billion (approximately RMB 995 billion), up 21% year-on-year. In December alone, vehicle exports surged to 990,000 units, a dramatic 73% increase compared to the same month last year. In recent years, China’s automotive exports have maintained robust growth, with export value skyrocketing from USD 34.5 billion in 2021 to USD 142.4 billion in 2025, reflecting explosive expansion. Cui noted that the fourth quarter saw an export boom, driving strong foreign exchange earnings for the full year. Additionally, automotive parts exports are primarily directed toward the U.S. market, averaging over USD 8 billion per month from March to August, and remaining at historically high levels in December. However, due to differing target markets, the growth rates of complete vehicles and auto parts diverged significantly.
