On January 19, Hu Zhengnan, Investment Partner at Shunwei Capital, responded on Weibo to questions regarding Xiaomi Auto's participation in testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the 24-hour endurance race. He stated that the Nürburgring—widely regarded as the "ultimate proving ground" for high-performance vehicles globally—is a critical platform for Xiaomi to validate and enhance its mass-production technologies. Through these tests, Xiaomi not only identifies potential issues and optimizes component performance but also precisely assesses climate- and safety-related risks while continuously improving lap times. The 24-hour endurance race, he added, specifically focuses on verifying the reliability of the vehicle’s tri-motor electric system under extreme conditions, rigorously testing the drive system under high-power operation, the battery’s high-rate charging and discharging capabilities, and the overall thermal management of the vehicle. Hu emphasized that such testing aims to challenge the prevailing misconception that "electric vehicles are merely oversized toys" and to demonstrate that EVs can genuinely replace internal combustion engine cars in high-performance scenarios. He noted that just as the century-old traditional automotive industry matured through motorsport, the EV industry must undergo the same process—and Xiaomi Auto has firmly embarked on this path.
